Heavy duty bulkheads are much stronger than standard "plastic" bulkheads, therefore you can tighten them down without the fear of striping the threads. They require a slightly larger hole than standard ones, so they will not fit into most predrilled tanks. Threaded all the way through.

For the real do it yourselfer! These diamond coated drill bits / hole saws are designed with the hobbiest in mind. Made in China, so Low cost but, only plan to drill a few holes before they are done. Use lots of water and patience. Blue Ribbon Koi assumes no liability in the event that a tank breaks, DO NOT DRILL TEMPERED GLASS! We have drilled countless tanks with these bits with not one break. We do not drill customer tanks, sorry.

Why use an expensive bulkhead when you can use a Uniseal®? Just drill a hole in the pipe, tank or bucket, insert a Uniseal®, then put some Windex® on the end of the pipe and push it in. It’s that easy!
